Francis Malcolm Institute Trails

Trailhead

Located on Route 1A in Easton, mid-way between Easton and Fort Fairfield, just south of the Conant Road. The trailhead is directly across the highway from the Francis Malcolm Institute. Watch traffic!

Directions: From Fort Fairfield -- approximately 7 miles south on Route 1A, trail entrance on left. From Mars Hill -- approximately 12 miles north on Route 1A, trail entrance on right. From Presque Isle -- take Conant Road to the end, then right onto Route 1A, trail entrance immediate left. Parking is available at the Institute's parking lot.

Description

All trails commence at the kiosk directly across from the Francis Malcolm Science Institute. Conditions on shorter Open, Woods, Loop trails are best for spring, summer, fall hiking. Swampy conditions prevail throughout longer trails, Parsons Trail and Wilderness Trail, and may be better suited for winter snowshoeing.
